Resident Services

Mail & Package Service

University Housing supplies residents with mail services. Each resident gets their own mailbox assignment with a combination or keyed lock. Here they will receive any paper or small parcel mail items.

Residents can also ship larger packages to campus, these packages are held in the designated package pick up center located in the USC or in OSP. Residents get notified when they receive packages via e-mail to their University e-mail address as well as a text message to the phone number provided during their application process. Letters and prepaid packages can be sent from the University via the University Student Center front desk.

Laundry Services

Laundry services are available in the residence halls provided by Caldwell & Gregory Laundry. You can use LaundryView to check the status of the machines that are in use.

Laundry can be found in the following locations on campus:

  • Pelican Apartments: Located on floors one, three, four, five, & seven
  • Ibis Hall: Located on the third floor
  • Osprey Suites: Located on the first floor

Laundry can be paid for with either coins or bulls bucks that are loaded to the student ID card and each load in the washer or dryer will cost $1.25.

Bull Bucks

Bull Buck$ is a campus-wide declining balance program for USF St. Petersburg students, faculty, and staff. Participants add value to their “account” which is linked to the BULL BUCK$ Card.

Bull Buck$ reduces the need to carry cash on campus and provides an alternative to commercial bank cards. Parents can add value to student accounts online from home which will allow students to use the funds for incidentals on campus at USF St. Petersburg.

In addition, some USF St. Petersburg retail locations offer special discounts for using Bull Buck$. Bull Buck$ is also the method of payment for most copy and print services in our library and lab locations. These funds cannot be used at dining facilities on campus.

Internet

All residential buildings are on the USF wireless network. For an additional fee, wired connections are available in the student room. Contact Campus Computing with questions or concerns about internet within the residence halls.

If you are attempting to activate a wired connection within your room please email, stp-housing@usf.edu, with a picture of the the port, the location, and the number as well as a brief explanation as to why you would like the port activated.

Housing Maintenance (Work Orders)

In the case that something breaks, does not work, or just generally needs to be replaced, and is not an emergency, a Housing Work Order may be submitted. Work orders may take 3-4 days to be completed depending on priority. If a work order needs to be submitted and is an emergency please contact your RA or the RA on duty for your building if the problem occurs after hours or on weekends, however if it is an emergency between the hours of 8AM-5PM Monday- Friday please contact the housing front desk.

Housing Work Request

Bed Height Request Process

All beds will be at the height set by the previous resident when you move-in, unless you request otherwise. If you wish to set your bed at a particular height setting, please follow the below instructions.

To have your bed raised or lowered, you will need to complete a work order for a maintenance request through the housing website. To ensure this is completed in a timely manner and to best practice social distancing, we highly recommend you make this request before you arrive to campus. Making a request to raise or lower your bed after you arrive to campus may result in a longer wait time.

HOW TO SUBMIT A WORK ORDER:

  1. Visit the Maintenance Request page on our website and follow the instructions listed on the page to access the maintenance request system.
  2. Once you have logged into the system, make sure to complete all fields of the work order form (name, email, building, area, room, etc). This information will help us to respond to your work order request in a timely manner.
  3. Please ensure you select the reason, Raise/Lower Bed.
  4. Please describe your problem or request, please type which height you would like your bed in the text box.
