MARKETING AND ADVERTISiNG IN THE RESIDENCE HALLS
Procedure for Distributing Flyers
Posting flyers in the Residence Halls is a great way to advertise student clubs/organization meetings, programs and events, and events happening with campus departments. If you have an event you would like to advertise for, please see the following steps for getting your flyers posted in the residence halls.
- All flyers are to be approved through the Housing & Residential Education office before posting.
- If you need a flyer approved for posting, please come in person to the Housing & Residential Education front desk at OSP 110 to get approval or send a digital copy to our email: stp-housing@usf.edu.
- Please bring at least THREE copies of your flyer. There is one flyer board per building (one in RHO/PELI, one in OSP, and one in USC/IBIS). If you would like a flyer on every floor, we will need nineteen copies. We will default to three if we do not have enough for every floor.
- All flyers must be submitted to our office no later than 72 hours or three days before the event.
- Flyer dimensions should be 8 1/2 X 11 and all flyers should be legible and printed. Flyers larger than these dimensions will not be approved unless given prior permission. Flyers with handwriting may not be approved unless given prior permission.
- Only University student organization and departmental advertisements/flyers are allowed in the residence halls. The flyer must have the club or organization on it, either through a logo or text, in clear and legible font.
- All flyers must have contact information, typically in the form of an email. Flyers for events also preferably have this statement on them, "For all reasonable accommodations, please contact [insert netID]@usf.edu." QR Codes are not counted towards this requirement.
- Flyers that have not been through the flyer approval process will be taken down by Housing & Residential Education staff.
- Flyers for clubs/organizations that do not have a "deadline" (ex. a "Join RHA" flyer) on them may be removed from lobbies after 30 days of being up or at the beginning of a new semester.
- All marketing in the USF St. Petersburg residence halls must adhere to USF Policy and Guidelines. Please review the University of South Florida's Policy on Events, Signage, and Space Management when creating your flyers or promoting an event.
If you have any questions about flyer submission, marketing & advertising in the halls, or program collaboration, please contact the Housing and Residential Education office at 727-873-5101 or via email stp-housing@usf.edu.
