Waste Minimization
USF HAZARDOUS WASTE MINIMIZATION PROGRAM
As a large quantity generator of hazardous waste, USF is required to operate a waste minimization program. Waste minimization is the reduction in the amount of toxicity or waste produced by a facility, and includes source reduction, reuse, recycling, and treatment options in lieu of disposal. Help us reduce the amount of hazardous waste produced at USF, and its environmental impacts, by utilizing the Hazardous Waste Minimization Guide.
POLLUTION PREVENTION
Pollution prevention is reducing or eliminating waste at the source by modifying production processes, promoting the use of non-toxic or less-toxic substances, implementing conservation techniques, and re-using materials rather than putting them into the waste stream.
