Deep-sea discovery shines light on life in the twilight zone
A study revealing low levels of iron in the ocean's twilight zone and how bacteria scavenge the nutrient from surrounding seawater was published in the journal Nature. The study could change the way scientists view microbial processes in the deep ocean and offer new insight into the ocean’s capacity to absorb carbon.
