Community Scholars

Overview

Please Note: The last Community Scholar Cohort will be Spring 2025. 

The Community Scholars program offers guaranteed admission to the University of South Florida St. Petersburg campus for students who live outside Pinellas County for the Spring term directly after high school graduation and includes a $1,000 one-time transfer scholarship.

Please note that this guarantee is for admission to USF, but may not include an offer into programs that require more competitive admission criteria. See below for more information on these programs:

QUALIFICATIONS

Students outside of Pinellas County who are not offered admission in the Fall semester are eligible for the program. All eligible students will receive a letter in the mail inviting them to participate in this program.

Students must meet the following criteria:

  • Complete 12 or more transferable credits at an accredited college/university in the Summer and/or Fall semester immediately following high school graduation.
  • Earn at least a 2.5 cumulative GPA in all post-secondary work and a passing grade in all college-level courses.
  • Enroll at the USF St. Petersburg campus as a full-time student during their first spring semester. 

Perks

The Community Scholars participant will receive dedicated admissions and advising support from the Assistant Director of Recruitment and a $1,000 scholarship for their first spring semester of enrollment at the St. Petersburg campus.
