GENERAL STUDIES AT USF ST. PETERSBURG
The General Studies major provides coursework with a more general focus for students on the St. Petersburg campus. Most students enrolled in the program are currently employed full-time and need to earn a degree to advance in their careers. As a BGS student, you will take an active role in creating your academic program.
Rather than choosing a traditional major, you can choose from a variety of concentrations, including several online options. Concentrations are between 24 – 27 credits, including core courses, electives and a capstone.
The BGS allows students to advance their careers in areas such as healthcare, information architecture, business, public service and criminal justice.
REQUIREMENTS FOR THE MAJOR
The BGS supports new students with at least 60 credits and a gap in education of three to five years. Learn more about the admissions process for this degree here. Always refer to the Undergraduate Catalog for degree requirements. Students are urged to consult with the General Studies advisor to create the most beneficial set of courses.
