BUSINESS ANALYTICS AND INFORMATION SYSTEMS AT USF ST. PETERSBURG
The business analytics and information systems curriculum at the St. Petersburg campus allows students to take all core courses of the program and reflects the data-intensive nature of information systems applications. Students will gain knowledge on information systems, databases, computer networks, programming, and decision making that fully prepares them as they enter a workforce where business analytics and information skills are increasingly and intensely sought after.
Faculty teaching these courses have a diverse research background that range from the use of data for social good to the use of machine learning and artificial intelligence to solve business problems.
Students with a business analytics and information systems major are prepared to enter the rapidly changing world of this field. Students who complete the program can target career paths as a business analyst, database administrator, network administrator, IT project manager, IT auditor, developer/software engineer, business intelligence developer, and data engineer jobs or a myriad of technology management roles in business.
REQUIREMENTS FOR THE MAJOR IN Business Analytics and information systems
Always refer to the Undergraduate Catalog for degree requirements. Students will normally begin progress toward the major by taking at least one course from the major core, as these often serve as prerequisites for the electives. Students are urged to consult with the business analytics and information systems advisor to create the most beneficial set of courses.
