USF receives record number of applications, welcomes high-achieving class of incoming students
This year, USF received a record number of applications from first time in college students. More than 68,000 students applied to USF, an increase of approximately 5% from last year and over 35% from just three years ago.

Last year, USF’s St. Petersburg campus welcomed a National Merit Scholar to its incoming class for the first time in school history. In fact, it welcomed five of them. This year, the campus exceeded those numbers with eight National Merit Scholars in the 2022-23 incoming class.

Current and incoming students at the USF St. Petersburg campus can take advantage of several new academic majors as fields of study. USF expands program to enhance access for high school students from lower-income backgrounds
