A great grandmother inspired this student's research into dementia
Growing up, Dana Smith had a close relationship with her great grandmother. But Smith knew her mostly as a family member who suffered from dementia. That experience inspired Smith as a USF student to get involved with the Preventing Alzheimer's with Cognitive Training study.

USF honors student chosen for prestigious summer internship at marine sanctuary
Audrey Brandt is interning with the Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary in California, one of the largest federally protected marine sanctuaries in the United States. Brandt's journey began after being selected for the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration Ernest F. Hollings Scholarship Program.

Brain cancer survivor graduates with honors and lasting memories
As Cole Eicher prepares to graduate, he’s also celebrating another milestone: ten years of being cancer free. Eicher has not only recovered, he is a national advocate for children with cancer, launching an effort that today is the American Cancer Society’s official childhood cancer initiative.

Students make a difference with food recovery club
Several days a week, students with the food recovery club collect and transport unserved food from the campus’ dining facility to give to those in need. This semester, the club devoted to reducing food waste has provided nearly 800 pounds of food to the community.
