Undergraduate Studies Spotlight
UGS Fall 2024 Semester-In-review
Undergraduate Studies is a new department on the USF St. Petersburg campus, in fact this was our first fall term. The infographic below illustrates, in numbers, how our team has made an impact in its first full-term. Beyond the numbers, three highlights stick out:
- Student Success Advocates provided support to students navigating the impact of two back-to-back hurricanes on their academic success.
- The Debbie Nye Sembler Student Success Center experienced a 42.3% growth in its services driven by increases in our first-year class and adding to its testing services.
- Expansion of programs serving first-generation college students, including our designation as a FirstGen Forward institution.
In our first fall semester, we are proud to contribute to the collective impact of a campus defined by a community of care that is driven by student success.

What does Graduation mean to you?
Naudia King: Graduation is finishing what I started when I decided that I wanted to go to school.
It means that I am committed to succeeding no matter how many challenges I faced,
face, or will have to face. It means that I promise myself to never give up on learning
and growing to be a better person.
Ty Grant: Finally, being able to walk across that stage means the world to me. I have worked
so hard these past four years, and have went through so much in my life. It is a
complete honor!
