Joe Askren, a professor in the School of Hospitality and Tourism Management at USF Sarasota-Manatee, has been named the new director of the Brewing Arts program. Launched in 2015 at USF St. Petersburg, the online program prepares participants for a successful career in the craft brewing industry.

Nearly 20 youths from throughout Pinellas County were recognized for advancing the ideals of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. during an inspirational ceremony at USF St. Petersburg. Middle, high school and college students were celebrated for overcoming adversity, fighting for social justice and lifting up their communities.
