Climate Action Plan

Care for our natural environment is one of the core values at USF St. Petersburg campus. We celebrate our connection to the waterfront and cityscape. Through study, service and action, we serve as stewards for the plants, animals and systems that sustain us, taking seriously our commitment to become carbon neutral and a leader in sustainability.

The university’s Climate Action Plan (CAP) is our guide for a sustainable and more environmentally-responsible campus and community. The CAP serves as a way forward for the university in reducing its baseline greenhouse gas emissions by 50% by 2035 and to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050.

The plan is a set of goals and strategies that were developed by USF St. Petersburg staff and students to reduce carbon emissions and reflects an extensive analysis of the campus’s 2014 greenhouse gas inventory and daily use forecast.
