Undergraduate Major
The undergraduate major in management prepares students to manage and lead all aspects of organizations. It also prepares students for graduate study in business and other fields. Mastery of course content enables students to inspire themselves, others, teams and organizations to coordinate efforts to provide effective outcomes.

MANAGEMENT AT USF ST. PETERSBURG
Knowledge and content covered in the Management degree program includes ethics and virtue, organizational behavior, human resources, domestic and international cultural differences, and negotiating skills. All students will participate in a capstone course, which integrates the learning objectives of the Management curriculum through a study of a real company, where students demonstrate that they can now apply effectively what they have learned.
This degree program offers four unique concentrations for students to further their studies in. They include:
- Aging Services Management Concentration, which provides students with the knowledge and skills necessary to obtain entry-level positions and to succeed in the field of aging services.
- HR Management Concentration, which develops in students an understanding of the different functions encompassed within HR such as managing compensation, benefits, training and development, recruitment, staffing, employee retention, performance evaluation and employment law.
- Project Management Concentration, which in addition to a focus on project management, emphasizes negotiation and conflict resolution and organizational management.
- Responsible and Inclusive Organizational Leadership, which is designed for students interested in contributing to efforts aimed at solving society’s most intractable problems and highlights ethical reasoning, leadership and team building for social and environmental change.
Students who graduate with a degree in Management commonly choose careers in leadership, human resources or entrepreneurship leading eventually to executive roles.
REQUIREMENTS FOR THE MAJOR IN MANAGEMENT
Always refer to the Undergraduate Catalog for degree requirements. Students will normally begin progress toward the major by taking at least one course from the major core, as these often serve as prerequisites for the electives. Students are urged to consult with the Management advisor to create the most beneficial set of courses.
