"Got Your Six": Cultural competency workshops to develop greater understanding on all aspects of the military-connected experience
To provide a community sense and create greater understanding between military-connected students and the campus as a whole, a series of cultural competency workshops is being organized as part of USF’s Got Your Six Veterans Success Network.

Nikki Gaskin-Capehart is an alum twice over. Graduating in 1996 with a bachelor’s degree in Communications, she returned to USF’s St. Petersburg campus nearly two decades later, this time with a day job as director of urban affairs for the city of St. Petersburg, to earn a master’s in Liberal Arts.

New native landscaping brings monarch butterflies to campus
New landscaping featuring native Florida plants lured a host of unique visitors to campus: monarch butterflies. In caterpillar form, nearly 60 individuals of this imperiled species appeared one morning outside of the Peter Rudy Wallace building, attracted by milkweed planted by the groundskeeping crew at USF’s St. Petersburg campus.
